Monte di Mezzo is the last southernmost peak of the Monti della Laga group.
The climb to Monte di Mezzo offers a series of spectacular views of Lake Campotosto and the Gran Sasso massif.

Program
Meeting point: L'Aquila (agreed with guide) at 7:00. Transfer by car.
The snowshoe trail starts from the dam of Rio Fucino on Lake Campotosto at an altitude of 1316m and, through a long ridge route, arrives to Monte di Mezzo (2155 mt). It is a long and challenging excursion from the physical point of view but without technical difficulty.
Gap: +840 m. - Walking hours: 7h - Difficulty: medium

In case of total or partial absence of snow, the excursion will still be taken without snowshoes.

Technical requirements
Very good trainig for mountain walking is required.
The program can be modified or interrupted by the guide due to the insufficient technical level of the participants or for meteorological reasons.

• Heavy fleece
• Gore-Tex anorak
• Mountain pants
• Wool or pile hat
• Gloves
• Mountain socks

Inside the backpack [30/40 lt maximum]:

• One fiber T-shirt
• A pair of mountain socks
• Waterproof overpants (ex: Gore-tex, pac lite, conduit, k-way)
• Waterproof shell
• Sunglasses and protective cream
• Camera
• 1 lt bottle or Thermos
• Drinks and saline supplements
• Energy bars
• Packed lunch

Guide's expenses and anything not specified in the issue "Included".
In case of modification of the itinerary due to causes external to the organization (adverse weather conditions, technical level of the participants, etc.) the unforeseen expenses will be debited to the participants.
